Christmas is Coming…

6:54 pm November 11, 2009

x-xmastreeChristmas is surely coming mighty quick, and I am just not prepared for it!  I would love to see family and friends this year, but I just don’t have it in my budget. I have heard of emergency loan lenders, that will loan you the money quickly and easily to help with things like this, that are not a regular thing, but a once in a lifetime opportunity.

If I could get a little loan to help with the finances this Holiday season, then maybe the Holiday reunion isn’t such Read more…

Wishes…..

6:20 pm February 9, 2009

wishesThere are a lot of ways to make wishes, by Blowing out birthday candles, seeing a shooting star, saying a word at the same time as someone else does, blowing away an eyelash.

And about the birthday cake thing, I still wonder if I’m the only one who worries about people Read More...

A Dublin Carol Review

7:50 pm December 27, 2008

There’s no Christmas cheer in this play that tells a tale of lifelong regrets seen from the bottom of a whiskey bottle. Scrooge has nothing on John Plunkett, a man who walked away from his family for self loathing and solace found in his life of hiding in an alcoholic stupor.

Where’s The Merry?

3:38 pm December 14, 2008

Where the heck are people’s manners this time of year? Has the spirit of giving gotten displaced by harried greed?

I know our economy is in the dumper, but good will towards your fellow man is always a welcome change no matter the economy. Christmas shopping is a wicked evil thing to participate in right now. People all think it’s about them, and the average well mannered individual doesn’t stand a chance.

The DNA Before Christmas

9:24 am December 8, 2008

Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the place,
The evidence of the holiday,
Had left behind it’s trace.

The stockings were hung,
On the chimney with grace,
In hopes that Santa would leave,
A lot of his DNA.

The family was nestled,
All warm in their beds,
With visions of field kits,
Dancing in their heads.

Wearing Victoria’s Secret,
Tiptoeing down the stairs,
In hopes of capturing the Read More...

Tis the season for the spirit of giving

7:46 pm November 10, 2008

It’s not even Thanksgiving and in America the stores are already touting Christmas like it’s happening tomorrow. Our local greeting card store has had their Christmas ornaments up since June. Our economy has tanked and all the big corporate stores can think of is their precious bottom line. What about sharing the wealth with those that are suffering through the hard times these same said corporate types have created?

Christmas is a time of giving, not spending. It’s a Read More...
