This is another amazing story of overcoming adversity, just like the Story of Jasmine, and once again, it is a canine that shows us the way…..
Be prepared to be amazed and awed at the courage, survival and strength this lovely dog has overcome!
This dog was born on Christmas Eve in the year 2002. He was born with 3 legs - 2 healthy hind legs and 1 abnormal front leg which need to be amputated.
He of course could not walk when he was born.
Even his mother did not want him. Read more…
When I had my dog Ebony, I wish I had known about Dinovite which is a great company that offers solutions as to why your pet sheds constantly, or itches, or maybe even has that “dog smell” that no matter how much you bathe him or her, it doesn’t help!
Well, I just went over to the solutions center and answered a few questions and they gave me a report of what I could possibly do to help Ebony with her itching and constant scratching, and even get rid of the smell.
What I didn’t know is that when you feed your dog regular dog food, it is cooked Read more…

So by now we’ve all seen the gut wrenching ASPCA PSA with Sarah McLachlan ’s amazing vocals. If not, you can check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5E1AkyyxF0 The piece has generated a record breaking $30 million dollars for the ASPCA-which is a fabulous thing. Now that you’re feeling all warm & fuzzy inside, here are 5 Read More...
Seems like there is always an old curmudgeon out there who can’t take a joke…or keep up with the times. From claiming that dog diapers will give the poor dog a rash or compromise its mobility (they don’t) to insisting that dogs don’t Read More...
America’s First Dog, Bo Obama, has everybody atwitter about single coated dogs. Because they don’t shed, single-coated dogs tend to be more tolerable to allergy suffers…and a lot more user-friendly to householders who don’t enjoy trying to remove dog hair from every surface of their homes!
While single-coated dogs may be a boon in many respects, they do come with a downside. First of all, because these dogs do not shed, they require regular brushing and haircuts, as the hair grows continually, just like human hair. And secondly, because they never Read more…

I love this cause, because I love animals! Remember when I posted about Jasmine? That has been our most popular post by far, and I hope this one will be right up there with it. This is also an awesome cause to help animals.

Who can resist that appealing look, those pleading eyes, the expression that says “I’m your best friend…won’t you share that delicious treat with me?” Even though we know we shouldn’t give our canine pals treats from the table, we love them and we do it anyway. But would we do it if we knew that tempting morsel was, for our dogs, a deadly poison?
Thousands of dogs are sickened every year…many of them fatally…from our ignorance of the foods that are harmless to us, but toxic to them. Most of us know Read more…

If you have ever gotten up at night and, en route to the bathroom, stepped in a cold, wet puddle of puppy pee…or worse…you may understand why an ever-growing number of folks are opting for doggie diapers. At first, the thought of putting diapers on a dog seems like a pretty silly thing to do. But upon reflection, if we don’t allow a naked baby butt to have access to our beds, sofas, carpets and car upholsters, how is a puppy butt any different? Puppy urine is no more sanitary, soaking into your sofa cushions, than that of a human baby and a puppy pile on the carpet is no easier to clean up than one left by your toddler. If you wouldn’t let an un-potty trained kid run around naked in your house, why would you let an untrained puppy? Read more…
Part 1: Sweet Poison
Just about everybody knows that the delicious human treat, chocolate, can be toxic to dogs, but did you know that xylitol, a popular artificial sweetener, is even more deadly? While they are mammals like us, dogs are physiologically different Read More...
There are a lot of potential negative side effects to spaying your dog and some of us would rather not expose our dogs them. But deciding to not spay your female comes with its own set of risks, chief among them unwanted litters and pyometra, a potentially fatal infection of the uterus. The choice to not spay, therefore, brings to the pet owner increased responsibilities.
It is doubtful that most pet owners have heard of pyometra Read more…
