Finding out you’re pregnant with twins can be a very exciting moment. You can’t help but feel just a little extra special from other moms to be. What an exciting moment!
Then reality starts to kick in. Doctor visits become a little less joyous and a little more scary as nurses and doctors start giving you the details of your now “high risk pregnancy,” especially if you’re over 35 and pregnant with twins. You can’t help wonder how in the world you’re going to care for two babies at once; and now a day doesn’t go by that you don’t think about Read more…
I know it sounds impossible, but trust me, it isn’t! I have started to do the 99 cent Walking Workouts with Marina online and have been happy with the results so far.
I don’t have a treadmill, but if I did I would want to try the Treadmill Workouts, because I have listened to the demos and they sound like so much fun!! Oh, I should mention that you can listen to a quick excerpt from each of the workouts prior to paying your $0.99 for them! There are so many to choose from, including walking/cardio (my favorite) that has 2 Read more…
Since our boys are in wrestling at the elementary school, skin things get spread around. In December, our oldest son came home from a meet with small red rash near his mouth which I quickly diagnosed as seborrhoeic dermatitis (thinking I was quite clever). I started treating it with hydrocortizone cream, which is to skin rashes that Carmex is to chapped lips, and a vacuum cleaner is to dirt on the floor. This didn’t work, so I started applying Lamisil cream which is used to treat jock itch that just happened to be lying around the house? That didn’t work. I think it was here that I realized maybe all skin fungi aren’t the same, so can’t be treated the same. When the two other boys got little spots near their mouths, I realized I needed to try something else. It has been 3 months Read more…
If only we knew a good Mesothelioma Lawyer a while ago, it might have helped in the case of my Uncle Ronnie.
He was a proud man who worked hard to provide for his family. He owned and operated a construction/demolition business in New York, and hardly ever missed a day’s work. Little did we know then about the dangers of Asbestos exposure. Back in the 60’s and 70’s no one was aware of the dangers of Asbestos exposure and that it is linked to Mesothelioma, a very destructive form of lung cancer. Read more…
Most people love spring even if it does bring on allergies. Spring is the season of renewal and invigoration; the earth comes back to life after its long winter slumber.
Spring also affects your biological clock and improves mood and health by promoting psychological changes in the brain.
Lets look at some benefits of spring on your health and well being.

I used to call myself a Dizzy Blond when I was younger. It was kind of amusing to poke fun at myself back then when I would do goofy things. I could always blame it on being blond, like the jokes go. But now that my hair is turning a slight shade of gray and I have Vertigo, I’m not so amused anymore.
My first introduction to this unwelcome visitor in my head was April of 2007. It was spring and I wanted to paint the kitchen. I spent a few days in awkward positions to paint the Read More...
America is staring in the face of a rare virus known as Swine Flu, and the country from which it is suspected of having taken over a hundred lives still has free moving access to America’s people with nothing but a hand wipe and a face mask if you are lucky.
The words pandemic and epidemic are being tossed around like helium balloons and yet being taken only as seriously. I’m normally one of the last people to encourage panic but it seems that there are times when it is okay to be excessively careful. PEOPLE ARE DYING… why not take PREVENTATIVE measures and begin Read more…
Busy women are often tired, but they have so much to do they don’t have time to slow down. They’re too busy busy taking care of everything and everyone else to take a little time for themselves. This often leads to unwanted stress, unhealthy habits, and feeling down and sluggish.
Time management is something that goes out the window when it comes to pampering ourselves, but if we can manage other tasks well, taking a little time for us shouldn’t take an act of congress or interfere Read more…
I did a headstand in yoga the other day and I don’t know where my boobs went, but my stomach landed in my face. Talk about a reality check. I have been watching the scale inch up bit by bit over the years, squinting down at the first-thing-in-the-morning-but-definitely-after-I-peed, weigh-in as five pounds turned to ten, then twenty, but I always had some good excuse ready to go.
I told myself that I had a perfectly fine, statistically average-sized, maybe nobody will notice body. I mused that if I’m going to die early because I’m fat, Read more…
Easter is around the corner, and we know what that means: baskets filled with lots and lots of chocolates and sugary candy; after all it wouldn’t be Easter with out the sugar hangovers! But with the rising concern of in-activeness and childhood obesity, eating healthy should extend to our children as well as us. Fortunately there are many alternatives to the high sugar high fat treats found in a traditional Easter basket, with out taking the good out of goodies. Here are some fun easy Read More...
We all know living a healthy life style is good for our body and minds. Deciding to make that change and creating a healthy meal plan is the first step. Trying to find a health plan that will fit into our ever increasing busy schedules has become very difficult and overwhelming with more diets and supplements and point systems hitting the market.
I recently sat down and googled “healthy eating” and was bombarded with 24,7000,000 results for my inquiry, I have to say I was amazed. Since there is so much conflicting information so readily available to us on what to eat, what not to eat, and what is true and what isn’t. One can only wonder where to start. Read more…
