I happen to love the television show, Dancing with the Stars, and I have often admired the dancing shoes that the women wear on the show. I will admit to a sort of shoe habit, and I think I have mentioned it on here before, so I notice shoes quite often.
I found dance shoes just like the ones that the ladies wear on the show, and I am so excited! Now, not that I am going on the show, or that I will be dancing in these gorgeous shoes, but I just like them for the style and for the look that they give when worn. I also figured that if dancers can wear these and dance in them, then they must be very comfortable, right? So I have decided to purchase a pair for myself, so that I can wear them with a nice dress, and look stylish when I do.
While looking at all the different dance shoes that they have, I noticed that they had tap shoes too, and it brought back fond memories of when I was younger and was in dance class, and I loved the tap portion of class. We had ballet, modern jazz and tap, and once I was told that my ankles were too skinny to support me in ballerina toe shoes (a devastating revelation, let me tell you!) and that I would never be a ballerina, my dream was shattered, and I grew to love tap dancing. I was always better at tap anyway, but I always dreamed of being a beautiful ballerina, only, I am not the most graceful girl, and I stumbled a lot. But with tap dancing, I could stumble and just flick my toes, and it made a clicking sound and I could still dance. Yes, fond memories for sure…. with my little red, white and blue flag outfit on, coming out on stage waving my mini flags in each hand, and tapping my heart out.
So now, I will have a pair of beautiful dance shoes, just like the stars and the pros wear, and I can relive my childhood dreams of dancing like there was no tomorrow!!
