I don’t know which gripe bothered me the most this week. Between a certain group of snobs calling First Lady Michelle Obama’s fashion choice to wear shorts on a hiking trip in Arizona in August at the Grand Canyon inappropriate!!! Hello?
Or the constant talking and bickering over this Health Care Reform. It has brought me to the point of cluelessness.
All I can say is the Obama family vacation on Martha’s Vineyard is well deserved. They arrived there today.
Other news this week includes the Credit Card Bill of Rights Kicks In.
It was signed into law in May by the President. I could not believe the things these companies were getting away with. I know they are thieves, but wow! Did you know if your payment is due on the 9th of every month and the mail does not get there by 9am you got charged a late fee? They
have already made a zillion dollars off of that. Austan Goolsbee of President Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers goes on to explain on a two minute video on the white house blog that they also had the right to raise your rate if you had a problem with another card. They also have to change the application form so that all us will be able to understand the terms, no more small print that he himself cannot understand and he has a Doctoral Degree.
This week the President said a few kind
words honoring three-time Sprint Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson at the white house. This is some of what he said, “its humble beginnings, when moonshiners raced on the sands of Daytona Beach during prohibition.” Giving a nod to the Wounded Warriors in the audience, then he thanked NASCAR for all they do for veterans.
This week as well the President welcomed President Mubarak of Egypt to he White House. President Obama focused on the longstanding partnership between the United States and Egypt. His statement was short and simple “the two countries will work together to help advance the interest of peace and prosperity around the world.”
Maybe I should add my gripes of the week for now on kind of an Andy Rooney thing because I know you probably feel the same!!
