New York Fashion Week is coming up in New York City from September 10th - 17th, and boy, would I love to be there! I am an avid fashion follower. Fashion week is “the” place to be. It is one of the four major fashion weeks that are put on by the fashion industry, the other fashion weeks being in Milan, Paris and London, and this year, the Fall 2009 Collections Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (which is by invitation only) has some stunning designers that I would love to see including: Luca Luca, Marchesa, Miss Sixty, William Rast (a label that Justin Timberlake is co-owner of) and Christian Siriano, who has proven that his win on the television show Project Runway was not just a fluke!

I love to watch Project Runway to see all the up and coming designer hopefuls, and to see how they create what they do, and what they get their inspiration from. The show is like a boot camp of sorts for wanna be designers, but it gives them a taste of what the industry can be like, and to be flexible and creative.

I have checked with New York Vacation Rentals about possibly going to New York City for the week, just so I could experience the whole Fashion week experience. I would love to watch the tents going up, and get to see the designers and models arriving, along with the “invited” celebrities. Then to be able to watch as the new fall fashions from the many different designers, come walking down the runway on the models, whew, I couldn’t think of a better dream come true. The air in there must be electric. The atmosphere backstage must be tense and exciting. What I wouldn’t give to be fly on the wall, if I couldn’t be there in person.
