Protection:Perfection

6:42 pm February 25, 2009

Some one I love once told me, “I’m not perfect.”  And I realized the excess of expectation that I had been placing on them. And I gained a bit of insight into myself and why I, and perhaps others, might do this…

Protection:Perfection

Expecting perfection is my kind of protection. You won’t be disappointed and will never be in a plight- if only everything would always go ‘right’.

You won’t find yourself wondering if everyone wasn’t always blundering. You don’t have to trust when perfection is a must.

Do what you say, say what you do. I would not need faith if I could bring out the perfect in you.

The anticipation of overcompensation is the only way to go. You’ll get more than what you ask for and never be disappointed by the show.

Cling to an ideal and never waiver. Only the best of the best will earn your favor.

And in this way- you’ll never have to cry-   when an imperfect love says ‘Goodbye’.
